Rated 5 out of 5 by MuadDieb from One of the few service plans worth buyin I have purchased the AppleCare plan for about 5 different Macs (Desktops, iMacs and Notebooks) over the past 7 years. Each has been used and paid for itself in the first use. The Motherboard on my PowerBook G4 stopped seeing the second DRAM memory module, they replaced it, retail cost. The power supply on my PowerMac G5 was making a weird noise (still working), but I had them replace it, they also replaced the main board, cost?
$900 You never know what will happen, these guys provide the best support immediate action at an apple retail store and great technical knowledge over the phone. Think of it more as insurance than a service plan! Rated 2 out of 5 by Johnny from It's like calling dumb and dumber After purchasing several apple products including MacBook Pro and Airport Extreme. I called Apple Care to help with some install issues. I spoke to 5 people, in 5 different departments.
Each person asked me the serial number of the product (claiming to pass it along to the next rep.). At the end, they couldn't resolve the issues and after some time, patience and effort, I found my issues while doing some research on the net. Conclusion: calling Apple Care is like calling dumb and dumber with please provide your serial number on auto repeat!
Not saying it's not worth it to have but APPLE really needs to address their customer service process and educate their techs better. Poor quality service. Rated 5 out of 5 by Philip from Peace of mind for the next 3 years I'm a repeat buyer. My experience with Apple care has been phenomenal. The first time I bought it, I did not register it correctly online and it was all user error. I didn't realize this until I had to take in my iMac for some repairs. The technician looked up the purchase date and was able to register it for me and took care of the service.
Ever since then I was sold on Apple Care, because they really do. I only wish it lasted longer than three years. This scenario took place in Germany while I was serving in the US Air Force.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Norm - Author & Editor from Great AppleCare for MB Air! B&H has one of the best prices available anywhere for a full, legitimate version of this AppleCare Warranty.
Their online site makes it easy to locate and order any of the appleCare Warranties - and B&H carries them all. The warranty was delivered very quickly, and was the new, sealed version which was readily accepted by Apple. Combining a truly fantastic price, with fast delivery and the confidence that you are not only getting the best price, but also receiving the legitimate, true Apple product made ordering from B&H a true pleasure and it is something that I would and will do again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great Product From B&H I purchased this at a lower price from B&H since I am a student and need to save any money I can. B&H is an authorized retailer of Apple products so I felt confident in buying. I called the store to verify a few specifics about the buying process and they were extremely helpful. The product was shipped the same day I purchased which was amazing and I would recommend this product and B&H to anyone.
Apple accepted my information and my computer was protected for 3 more years in under 5 minutes. That was the best part. Rated 5 out of 5 by Pixelshooter from Works only for US/Can residents This either works, or doesn't. So nothing really to review here. Note that you can register this version of AppleCare only if you are a resident of US or Canada. However, I was able to register it for a Macbook Air purchased outside of US, but by providing a US address.
I have not yet got a chance to use AppleCare on my mid-2012 Macbook Air, so I cannot comment on the quality of the product. However, B&H shipped the item fast, and I have no problems about it. I only wish it was cheaper. Rated 3 out of 5 by MMartinez from I bought it for peace of mind I guess the main reason I bought it was for peace of mind and because I considered the price to be pretty good $ compared to other places. Which had the plan for around $200 at the time I purchased it. I have not used the protection plan up until now, since I have only had the computer for about a month.so I can't really comment on the service they provide.
I guess the reason I gave it a 3 is b/c I wished they would provide additional coverage for accidental damage or water spills. Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul the pacifist from Cheaper than buying In-Store As advertised. I paid $ said and done.
It would have cost me $185 In-store (that price is with Student discount) If you ever plan on reselling your macbook within 3 years of initial purchase, Applecare is essential. Most people will not buy used without Applecare AND if they do, yo will take a price hit. It's pricey, but worth the hassle should something go wrong. I highly recommend purchasing from B&H. I buy all my camera equipment from either B&H.
